BULL'S CP Points – Exchangeable Steel Dart Tips
BULL'S CP Points, also known as Convertible Points, are exchangeable steel dart tips for darts with a compatible exchangeable tip system. Unlike classic steel dart tips, these tips are not permanently pressed into the barrel but can be screwed in and out with the appropriate CP Points Tool.
This allows worn or damaged tips to be replaced quickly. At the same time, you can try out different tip lengths and designs and customize your dart setup to your personal preferences.
At Diplomatgames, you will find various BULL'S CP Points as well as suitable accessories for quick and easy tip changes.
What is the BULL'S CP System?
CP stands for Convertible Points. The system was developed to make changing steel dart tips as easy as possible.
The CP Points are screwed into the designated receptacle of the dart barrel. With the compact BULL'S CP Points Tool, the tips can be loosened and securely reinserted in a short amount of time.
The main advantages:
- quick tip change
- no classic Repointer necessary
- easily replace damaged tips
- try out different tip lengths
- various designs available
- uncomplicated adjustment of the dart setup
BULL'S CP Points and other exchangeable tip systems
BULL'S CP Points are not exclusively limited to BULL'S CP barrels. They can also be used with other compatible exchangeable tip systems.
Similarly, tips from other compatible exchangeable tip systems can be used in corresponding BULL'S CP barrels. This may include Target Swiss Points as well as tips from other technically compatible exchangeable systems.
The decisive factor is not solely the manufacturer or the name of the system, but whether the respective tip and the barrel's receptacle are technically compatible.
For screwing in and out, the tool matching the tip used is required. For BULL'S CP Points, the CP Points Tool is used. If a tip from another exchangeable system is used, the tool intended for that system is required accordingly.
Classic steel dart barrels with permanently pressed-in tips, on the other hand, do not have a corresponding exchangeable tip receptacle. In these barrels, CP Points or other screw-in exchangeable tips cannot be used without a suitable receptacle.
BULL'S CP Points Tool
For easy changing of BULL'S CP Points, there is the special BULL'S CP Points Tool. The tool grips the designated receptacle of the CP tip and allows for controlled screwing in and out.
The tool is compact and can easily be carried in a dart case. This way, a damaged tip can be quickly replaced even during practice or before a competition.
For BULL'S CP Darts, the corresponding tool is usually included in the scope of delivery. It is also available separately as a replacement.
Players using tips from another compatible exchangeable system should note that the corresponding tool for that tip system may be required.
Different CP Points for different setups
When choosing a steel dart tip, it is no longer just about the dart sticking securely in the board. The length, surface, and grip of the tip can also influence the feel of the game.
BULL'S therefore offers different CP Points. Depending on the model, these differ, for example, in terms of:
- tip length
- surface structure
- grip area
- color
- design
This allows you to specifically tailor your setup to your personal requirements.
Thanks to compatibility with other suitable exchangeable tip systems, additional possibilities for selecting length, shape, and grip may also arise.
Which length should I choose?
The length of the steel dart tip influences, among other things, the distance of the barrel to the dartboard and thus also the possibilities for tight groupings.
Shorter CP Points
Shorter tips provide a compact setup and offer a classic dart feel. They are particularly suitable for players who are satisfied with their current setup and merely want to take advantage of an exchangeable tip system.
Medium CP Points
Medium tip lengths offer a good compromise between a compact setup and additional space between the barrels in the dartboard.
Long CP Points
Longer tips increase the distance between the barrel and the board. For tight groupings, this can create more space for the second and third darts.
However, a longer tip is not automatically better. Which length works best depends on the dart used and the personal throwing style.
Smooth or textured CP Points?
In addition to length, the surface of the tip plays an important role.
Smooth CP Points offer a classic playing feel and are a good choice for players who do not need additional grip.
Textured CP Points have grooves, milling, or other surface structures. Depending on the design, these can provide additional hold in the dartboard or more finger grip.
Textured tips are particularly interesting for players who place a finger on the dart tip when throwing. A defined grip zone can help to easily find the grip position again.
Distinguish between board grip and finger grip
With textured dart tips, two functions should be distinguished.
Board grip refers to the structure in the front area of the tip, which can provide additional hold in the sisal.
Finger grip, on the other hand, is located further back towards the barrel and is aimed at players who position a finger on the tip.
Some tips combine both properties.
However, it should be noted: A very aggressive surface can provide additional grip, but at the same time put more strain on the sisal of the dartboard. The tip should therefore always be chosen to suit personal requirements.
Changing BULL'S CP Points
Changing is uncomplicated:
- Place the CP Tool on the existing tip.
- Carefully unscrew the tip from the barrel.
- Insert the desired CP tip.
- Securely fasten the tip with the CP Tool.
This allows the dart setup to be changed within a short time without having to use a classic tip changer or repointer.
When using a tip from another compatible exchangeable system, the change is carried out according to the same basic principle. However, the tool intended for the respective tip should always be used.
Which BULL'S CP tip suits me?
The right combination of length and surface depends on your own throwing style.
| Wish | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| classic playing feel | smooth CP Points |
| more hold in the board | CP Points with board grip |
| finger rests on the tip | variant with finger grip |
| compact setup | shorter CP Points |
| more distance to the board | longer CP Points |
| test different setups | try several lengths and grip variants |
Precisely the ability to quickly switch between different variants is one of the great strengths of modern exchangeable tip systems.
